ELEVATE YOUR ATHLETICISM

2

Our main objective is to enhance your physical qualities, bolster your durability, and boost your self-confidence, all of which contribute to developing your sports skills. We eliminate uncertainty by crafting a personalized training program that aligns with your unique athletic goals.

Whether you play one sport or multiple sports year-round, our approach involves tailoring strategies to develop your physical abilities and sport-specific skills simultaneously. We are committed to fostering your long-term athletic growth.

Maximize Performance

1

Reaching one's maximum athletic potential goes beyond simply increasing playing time; it involves engaging in a deliberate training regimen that focuses on developing a solid foundation of relative body strength and fundamental movement skills.

As kids age, sport-specific skills get harder and harder to improve. However, physical abilities (size, speed, and strength) still have a significant window for improvement.

The Coach

As an All-American Linebacker at Boston College and a 3-time pro-bowl linebacker for the Detroit Lions, I had the incredible opportunity to play, train, and learn from great athletes, coaches, and trainers.

At BC, future Hall of Fame and two-time Super Bowl Champion Coach Tom Coughlin emphasized preparation and earning the right to win. “Earning the right to win means you’ve dealt with your fear of failure. The fear that you might not succeed—sometimes even before you begin—almost guarantees you’ll fail. Proper preparation will enable you to overcome that fear.” – Tom Coughlin.

Legendary NFL linebacker Chris Spielman told me in my rookie year, “In the NFL, you need to out-prepare the competition and “get the edge.” Either you get it, or you give it to your opponent.” – Chris Spielman

I always remembered those words, which inspired me to create the Stephen Boyd Get the Edge Sports Performance Program. An athletic enhancement program for high school athletes ages 14 - 18 that teaches young men how to mentally and physically prepare and elevate their athleticism. I am proud to offer these programs to you and look forward to helping you "Get the Edge."

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our mission is to provide young athletes with the physical qualities and growth mindset they need to excel in their athletic careers. We offer a safe, challenging training environment that fosters physical and mental growth while minimizing the risk of injuries. The standard exemplifies the value of earning the right to win. As coaches, we set the standard by demonstrating the value of earning the right to win through detailed preparation and dedication. We then practice these fundamental principles with our athletes, fostering their growth and development.

Training Philosophy

We provide world-class training in a positive, confidence-building atmosphere where hard work and fun are equally encouraged. Our comprehensive training program has been designed to enhance the physical attributes essential for athletes. This includes posture, mobility, core stability, coordination, deceleration mechanics, speed, strength, and power, all while fostering self-confidence. The workouts become progressively more challenging after mastering fundamental movements and basic techniques.

Every workout is designed to follow a specific sequence, optimizing performance while avoiding over-training. After building a solid foundation, athletes are prescribed full-body multi-joint and multi-planar strength and power movements. We train the whole body in various directions, at different angles, and in multiple planes of movement. The goal is to enhance durability and maximize the ability to generate power across a broad spectrum of athletic movements, ultimately taking their performance to new heights.
